First Person 2.0 (1.5th Person)
2013 | Comedy / Performance
The second performance by O,1,2nine.
The performance sought to dissolve the boundaries between humans, animals, and objects, and to bring about something in which grammatical person itself disappears. It did so through motifs including a dog and a tailbone, as well as a sketch called “Shakedown,” in which the performers' physical actions and spoken lines were switched: Performer A moved as the person carrying out the shakedown but spoke the victim's lines, while Performer B did the opposite. “Diary,” released on YouTube, is one of the sketches from this performance.
The plot is something like this: a man reads the diary of a man who can't stop writing a diary, then begins writing a diary himself, and so on... It's a story that makes no sense. Well, if you actually watch it carefully, the story does make sense. It's the grammatical person that doesn't.
