The Real O,1,2nine
2024 | Comedy / Performance, Video
Between fake documentary and true documentary, between backstage and the show, where things that aren't shown as works become works, or sort of don't: the border between lies and truth.
The exploits of Lie Vegetable and His Majesty Match-Fixing, and the backstage-like process of rehearsing again and again and putting a work together. Well, it's all lies, though. No—this is the real O,1,2nine.
A true story: I was made to be possessed. No, that's not right. The truth is, I was actually possessed. So, in other words, this is a documentary that comes ever closer to the very essence of realism. Yes, on this particular day, Yoshida's expression was sterner than usual. Toshima, on the other hand... Toshima was surprisingly cheerful. Toshima is forcing themself to be upbeat to mask their nervousness. This was the usual scene in the dressing room before a show. Suddenly, Toshima looked up toward Yoshida. But Yoshida, who should have been right there, had gone to Kyoto for a performance, and all that remained in the dressing room was a gust of wind. "Damn, I'd let my guard down just because he was Masayuki," Toshima muttered. "No. This is wrong. I'm just tired." Yes, this was the usual scene in the dressing room before a show.

This work and FINAL FUNTASY by Kyoto Roman Pop, led by Tatsuya Mukozaka, are also discussed in detail in the roundtable discussion “Casual Encounter and an Escape,” so please refer to that as well.
